Butter Cookie Recipe ~ Roll out cookies for all seasons
You will need:
1C Butter 2 Tablespoons Orange Juice
1 C Sugar 1 Teaspoon Vanilla
1 Egg 2/12 Cups Flour
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
*Mix first six ingredients with electric fluffy.
*Gradually stir in flour by hand until well mixed
*Chill 2 - 3 hrs until firm enough to roll out with rolling pin
*Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
*Roll out half of the dough on a floured surface until 1/8" - 1/4" thick.
*Cut with cutter and place on ungreased baking sheets
*Decorate at this stage with colored sugar, chocolate jimmies, raisins or nuts.
*Leave plain if you plant to decorate with icing.
*Bake 6-10 minutes until edges of cookie are light brown ~ Remove and cool on wire rack
Buttercream Icing Recipe
3 Cup Confectioners Sugar
1/3 Cup Butter
1 -2 Tablespoons Milk
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
Combine above ingredients until thoroughly mixed.
